Jackson Hole Rodeo
Jackson Hole has a long rodeo and cowboy tradition that dates back over 100 years. Come see why this sport has endured so long by dropping by the local rodeos for a calf-ropingly-good time. The Jackson Hole Rodeo is open on Wednesday and Saturday nights from late May into early September.
Rodeo events are many, and a visit to Jackson Hole will teach you much about the multifaceted sport. Come watch bronc or bull riding, and see competitors struggle to stay mounted as their animals buck, kick, and spin to dislodge them. The power and agility of the horses and bulls will astound you, as will the skill and balance of the cowboys. You’ll also be able to see barrel racing, which requires fast maneuvering on horseback, as well as breakaway, calf, and team roping.
If watching’s not good enough, you can try your hand at the rodeo by heading to Putnam Horsemanship. There, you’ll have an opportunity to ride a horse, barrel race at your own pace, and rope a calf dummy. Come in a city slicker, and you’ll leave a cowboy!
